(And old.zope.org's days are numbered.)

A few weeks ago, the single machine hosting zope.org/www.zope.org fell
over. The hard disk failed and there were no backups.

In general, Zope community infrastructure is poorly maintained due to lack
of interest. This lack of interest is understandable, but it's long past
time we moved to much simpler infrastructure, maintained by others, where
possible.

Tuesday, I created a small sphinx project for www.zope.org based on content
I harvested from the Way Back Machine. (Thanks Way Back Machine!) This
content was minimal and somewhat out of date.

This morning I relaunched www.zope.ord as a Read the Docs site. (Thanks
Read the Docs!).

I see this as an opportunity. Now, we can update the site via simple git
pull request. IMO, www.zope.org should form a simple portal to the
existing projects that build on or were derived from Zope or community
packages.

It would be awesome if folks would contribute and review content on this
site. A modest effort could make this useful (rather than a tombstone).

Thank you Jim! I’ll put it on the list of possible tasks for our upcoming sprint [1] to review and update the site.
